Amy helped the children make some saltdough. There were plenty of natural loose parts on the table for the children to investigate and explore. Some children rolled pine cones over the flattened dough. Others experimented poking the dough with the pinecones to make dents and add texture to the dough. Some children rolled the dough out using a rolling pin where others used the palm of their hand. Some of the children had made imprints of the leaves on the dough. They were fascinated by the intricate network of small lines, perfectly forming a saltdough leaf.
After they had been baked in the oven, the children noted that the dough had changed and was ready to be painted. We think these decorations are just perfect to adorn the walls and bring some autumnal colour inside.
