Wow! Just look at all those Alien hats! They're incredible. Well done Kindergarten. We are all outside enjoying the sunshine. Elephants group are in the woods making some Space themed art and craft. Penguins are playing in the garden and enjoying the water tray and have been spotted using large paint brushes to create water murals.

Our latest theme is 'Space'. It's been such a beautiful morning, our little Ladybirds and Butterflies group have been cooling down in their own little space themed paddling pool. The children have enjoyed playing with the balls which represent different size and coloured planets! We adore their display with these effective painted prints using cookie cutters. Well done everyone!

Every Thursday morning the Butterfly children enjoy a visit to our woodland area. They enjoy songs and stories at circle time. One of our favourites is 'Five Little Speckled Frogs'.

Dragonflies were surprised to see a Space Swamp in the garden on Wednesday. The children loved dipping their paper into the swamp and creating a runny, painted, marble effect - just like planets!

Kindergarten have spent most of this week playing in the woods. They have been enjoying looking after the vegetables and wild flower garden, playing in the mud kitchen, choosing art and craft resources, making obstacle courses and crossing the 'wobbly bridge'. Katie Fox was a little unsure about balancing on the plank at first. The children encouraged Katie to try and held her hand. They showed her how to step one foot in front of the other and spread your arms out helps

Ladybirds and Butterflies have been talking about 'Space' this week and they have space dust sand, galaxy dough, paints, prints & water play to support this theme. Many a day has been spent outside on the the secure balcony garden and on the large lawn downstairs.

There's nothing better than starting the week with a giant bug hunt! The suspense and excitement builds as we pull back a rock or log. The creatures wriggle and run and the children are keen to learn the names of the creatures and hold them. We all know that it's important to return them to where we found them. Our vegetable patch is looking amazing with carrots, runner beans and potatoes flourishing. Our wild flower garden is colourful and attracting all kinds of insect

The long awaited 'Under the Sea' display board is finished in our Ladybirds room. We think the Clownfish are a terrific addition to the display and they are so distinctive with their bright orange scales and white stripes. We've had a brilliant morning playing and napping. We enjoyed sausage, mashed potatoes and vegetables for lunch then more playing this afternoon!

Turn taking, cheering on friends, balancing, climbing & running were all skills the children used this morning to complete their obstacle course in the garden. We pretended to be under the sea and make treasure maps this week. We mixed glue and sand together. Felt tips were used to make marks where the treasure was buried and the direction we should walk.
