We have enjoyed the most splendid tea party this afternoon to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. We have celebrated the Queen's 70 years of service with lots of fun activities this week; messy play, colourful tuff tray activities, splatter painted bunting, making crowns, marching in the garden, enjoying stories and baking cakes for the party. The cakes Kindergarten made were fit for a Queen, in fact Her Majesty even took a stroll on the lawn and waved to the children!
As part of our school leavers annual programme 'Life Skills', the children have been finding out what an author and illustrator does. The children listened to stories about the environment and we discussed the characters, the plot, the beginning, the middle and the end. On Tuesday evening, we hosted a wonderful event for local nurseries to see first hand the work we have been doing to be an eco-friendly nursery and how to achieve 'Plastic Free Status'.
