Thank you to the Petroc students for putting on the most fantastic Christmassy morning for us. Kindergarten walked over to Petroc and took a ride in the lift right up to the North Pole! We entered the Grotto and were welcomed by smiling elves, reindeer and Mrs Christmas. We have enjoyed catching bubbles, card making, posting letters to Father Christmas, dancing, colouring and festive skittles. We were invited to visit Mrs Christmas for a story and then much to our surprise an
Jingle Bells, Christmas Turkey, Little Donkey, and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer were just some of the Christmas songs that the Kindergarten children sang to their adoring audience last night. We have been learning the songs along with the actions and Makaton signs for weeks now. The children have all made festive lanterns to light their performance. Finally the big night came and children arrived wrapped up warm ready to wow the crowd. Their lanterns were lit and the garde
The Toy Swap was a huge success and the donations were incredible. A very big thank you to all who have made this event possible. We helped the planet by swapping good condition pre-loved toys. We had books, clothes, shoes, dressing up clothes, soft toys, blankets, jigsaw puzzles, electronic toys and so much more! Dragonflies' Eco rep Danni enthused, "It's such a good thing to do. It gives unwanted toys a new life. They will have a new home." Look out for the remainder of

We have been taking part in 'World Nursery Rhyme Week' and we've been having lots of fun singing these dedicated rhymes over the five days. The children have explored each rhyme with music, art, Makaton and sensory trays. We have enjoyed 'Humpty Dumpty', 'When I was One' and 'I hear Thunder' to name a few! We have had fun playing on our own 'Pirate Ship' in the garden, making bird nest paintings, fluffy cotton wool clouds and using our weather kit from Learning through Land
Thank you to all our families, friends and staff for donating their time, effort and pennies towards our bake sale this week for BBC Children in Need . We have been blown away by your generosity. With the trees letting go of their leaves we find ourselves at a time of reflection and gratitude. We take this time to think about what makes us happy. We practice gratitude in the form of thought provoking conversational prompts. "What makes you smile?" We talk about things that make us happy - favourite books, activities that make us smile, choose delicious fruit from the snack platter and share pictures sent in from home. The children have been working collaborately,

Our little Ladybirds and Butterflies have been enjoying the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They have enjoyed exploring the sensory table. Plenty of opportunities to pour porridge into different size bowls and use different size spoons. Lots of giggles and fun!
Kindergarten have enjoyed playing in the garden and made a giant leaf mound. Then of course it was great fun throwing all the leaves into the air! Kindergarten made Diva lamp collages in honour of Diwali. They read a book all about a familiy celebrating the festival of lights. We have noticed the moon and the twinkling stars in the sky. The changing of the clocks have taken a little getting used to but the cosy corners adorned with books, cushions, blankets and toys have m
