On Monday 20th October we will be holding a fundraiser to help support Book Aid

International! Children attending nursery that day are invited to wear pyjamas or cosy clothes as we will be having a cosy day sharing stories!

If you are able to donate any books please can we have them by

Friday 17th October, ready for the book sale on Monday 20th

October.

We are so proud to have created our own 'Take a Book for Bedtime' library in our setting, and

thank you for supporting this scheme. And now we aim to support children further afield to enjoy

the world of books.

Book Aid International works worldwide selecting and delivering books to schools, libraries

and refugee camps, going to places where children need books the most.

Our very own Literacy coordinator Danni tells us why she is so passionate about this cause; "I have a sense of pride for the book scheme. This will help more people enjoy books." Working in Dragonflies, Danni is often found reading stories to a large group of children. When asked the benefits to the children when reading to them, Danni reeled off many including... brings a group together, promotes a calm environment, engages children not on a screen, encourages imagination, creativity and language development. Danni who unsurprisingly is a keen reader herself notes, "Books are especially good for imagination and teaching children about emotions. It helps them to understand feelings and this helps them to regulate. There is a book for every topic and this helps us to talk to the children about anything."

In order to help support this charity we are asking if you are able to donate books that are in

a good condition (this can be both children’s and adult books) for our booksale.

Thank you for your continued support.
