Children and grown ups were dazzled with excitement when Father Christmas came to visit us this morning. He brought sacks of gifts for children of all ages. The children accepted their gifts with beautiful manners and there were smiles all round when they showed everyone their gifts. Thank you father Christmas - we know it's a busy time of year for you!
This afternoon, some of our Kindergarten children went on the minibus to Holywell Primary School in Tawstock. We were treated by Key Stage 2 children to the performance 'Superstar'. The performers sang, danced and played musical instruments beautifully. Kindergarten enjoyed the play and even had a little dance on stage afterwards singing songs from their up coming Nativity.
Dragonflies have enjoyed toasted marshmallows and learning all about fire today in Forest School. The children watched closely how the fire was lit with a flint and cotton wool - "fluff" one of the children exclaimed! We learnt about the Fire Triangle and we know that the fire needs "sticks" (fuel) and "hot" (heat) and we learnt the word "Oxygen". We sang Christmas songs and even had our snack outside.
Today was the last Moo Music of the year. We enjoyed a fun Christmas party with bubbles, music, Santa hats, penguin hats & jingle bells. The children loved decorating the tree and learning new songs. Don't forget Moo Music has a waiting list so if you wish to re-book, please return your form to us by the end of term.
The children love talking about supermarkets and what they sell. They get so excited when they see Asda when we pass on the minibus. Today we made their dreams come true and actually stopped off at the supermarket! Sarah gave the children a shopping list and they enjoyed finding all the items on the list. Each child had a go at pushing the trolley and selecting the item from the shelf. We put all the items on the conveyor belt ready to pay the lady. We have had a fantas
Thank you to the residents and staff for making us feel so welcome at Oaklands Residential Home. We sang all the Christmas songs from our upcoming Christmas Nativity and it was a pleasure to see the children, residents and staff singing and clapping along. Our favourites include Jingle Bells, Little Donkey & Away in a Manger.
Over the next few days, the nursery will be adorned with the most beautiful snowflakes that the children are making. The children are learning about symmetry, shapes and snipping to make beautiful patterns using folded paper. The Hygge Hut is already looking really festive and we've had a lot of fun making them.
We would like to say an enormous thank you to the children and staff at West Buckland School for inviting us to to attend their production of 'Oliver'. We also enjoyed a wonderful performance by Reception and we were treated to refreshments. Some of the children had a little snooze on the bus before arriving back at St. Michael's for a chicken hot pot lunch. What a wonderful morning we have all had.
