Walking to see the Taw Bridge & Visiting St. Paul's Church

Some children in Kindergarten enjoyed a walk in the local area to learn about their community and the wider world. As we walked and chatted, we noticed numbers on houses, street signs, different shaped leaves, the garage - "that's where my Mummy gets petrol!"

We learnt about road safety and counted the cars, the lorries and laughed with delight as the bus gave us a cheery 'beep beep!'

Once we reached the viewpoint that stretches over the horizon of Barnstaple, one excited little boy exclaimed; "WOW! You can see the whole world!", promptly followed by our song 'We've Got the Whole World'.

We were excited to see the Taw Bridge and the children related this bridge to the one in their current story book, 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. Thankfully no troll!

We then walked through the beautiful gardens of St. Paul's Church, smelling the buddleia and counting the butterlies. We enjoyed a little drink and a story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff before heading back to nursery in time for a delicious hot lunch.
