We have been talkjng about May Day celebrations and the excitement of this season.
Emma Hedge has launched her fantastic Lego Club with very enthusiastic little designers and engineers! We have been having fun painting flags to commemorate VE Day.
There have been lots of things going on to celebrate David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. The Butterfly group even took a stroll to the Post Office to send his birthday card off in the post.
The children have been exploring the properties of ice. They have been painting ice cubes, tapping the large ice cubes to see if they crack and we left the largest block out in the sun to watch it change as it melted during the day.
There has been Fizz Pop Science Club experimenting with dandelion seed heads and how they are waterproof. We then looked at waterproof materials and stood behind an umbrella as Katie ‘Fox’ the science unleased the hose. Luckily we were dry underneath the umbrella!
We are talking about hot and cold countries. This is a fascinating theme which helps us to understand out world….the weather, climate, different plants and animals, camouflage animals in the snow, rainforests and food that grows.
