Some of our friends and families will be celebrating Diwali this Sunday.
We have enjoyed the story of Diwali and we have been looking at books and posters to find out a little more how families celebrate.
Rangoli art is thought to bring luck and prosperity to a family and their home. We took this as inspiration to make our very own Rangoli patterns using loose parts and natural materials. We saw lots of learning through play; colour sorting, classifying of objects, repeated patterns and sharing ideas. The nature scavenger hunt was lots of fun and children took a keen interest to look closely at the colours using magnifying glasses and binoculars.
We made some firework pictures using soft pastels and chalks. What a colourful display!
