Exploring Africa

Dragonflies & Kindergarten have really enjoyed their music session today using the African drums and other musical instruments. The children were encouraged to use their instruments to make sounds & rhythms fast, slow, quiet & loud. We thought about how to make our music capture the spirit of the characters & animals in the book 'Handa's Surprise' by Eileen Browne. Did you hear the thuds from the elephants stomping & the ostrich running?!

In the garden we acted out - 'We're going on a Lion Hunt'. We were certainly ready for lunch after dancing to 'Hakuna Matata' from The Lion King.
