Children across the whole nursery have been making bunting, flags, crowns and paper chains in the run up to the 80th VE Day.

Even our Forest School had a teddy bears street party complete with china tea cups to commemorate the occasion!

Children and staff were invited to wear colours of the Union flag and the children made the most fantastic crowns.

Dragonflies and Kindergarten enjoyed a street party style lunch outside and enjoyed fish and chips as a nod to the era.

During reflective and quiet moments, we talked about the things in which we are grateful and thankful for. Some children reminisce about their favourite holiday, things they did at the weekend and others noticed and appreciated what is around them, "that's a big cloud and that's moving away."

We made a gratitude tree and the highlight was when one of our friends in Kindergarten help to make flying paper aeroplanes for his friends in the group.
