Kim from The Learning Journey visited us last week with some fun games and activities about St. Patrick and Ireland. Kim is a qualified Primary School teacher and Forest School Practitioner. She runs the most amazing Home Education programme and is a friend of St. Michael's.
Kim is passionate about teaching children through play and making learning FUN! Kim has a special interest in teaching children about things with a Science, Nature and Mathematical twist. With St. Patrick's Day in full swing, Kim designed the most fun, interactive and colourful session for Kindergarten.
Children were welcomed with a story to set the scene. As a group they counted the jewels in the pot of gold, they organised colourful ribbons into the patterns on the rainbow, they were then invited to make a colourful pathway using colourful objects. The most exciting part of the experiment was colour mixing the food dye with clear water and pipettes. The children were fascinated and excited to watch the colours change so clearly within the cup. "It's gone all orange!"
Thank you Kim - we look forward to you visiting us again soon!
