Half Term has certainly been a mixed bag of long sunny days and grey overcast afternoons.
However, in true St. Michael's spirit, children donned their puddle suits and wellies and ventured out to the vegetable patch to meet Sarah to prep and plant vegetables. The children helped to carry, move, push, dig and pour the new compost and top soil into the vegetable patch. They had great fun turning over the soil and digging small holes for the plants to form their new homes.
Sarah pointed out the roots and the children know that the plants need sun, soil and water. They noticed that some of the flowers on the strawberry plant had been pollinated and turned into delicious strawberries. Thank you to the pollinators!
We are looking forward to nurturing, watering and caring for our plants. We hope to start our very own garden centre so watch this space!
