Forest School Puts the 'Fun' in Fungi!
Autumn is a beautiful time of year. It's a time where we notice the leaves changing colour and falling from the trees. Spiders think it's a terrific idea to move into our homes and animals are getting ready to over winter. It's also a time where most fungi start fruiting and little mushrooms pop up all over the ground. Our budding mycologists have been looking at books and information booklets all about the different kinds of fungi found in woodland. The children where shown shop bought mushrooms and invited to explore them further using a magnifying glass. They noticed the delicate 'gills' underneath the cap - "It's got stripes!" Some children used the mushrooms in their art work and printed with them.
We think they look really effective!
