Tuesday 17th March was St. Patrick's Day. A fun opportunity to discover colours, repeated patterns, matching, science, rainbows, stories, nature, shamrock, makaton and messy play. Our little Ladybirds and Butterflies had fun with the colourful soft play and shamrock printing with pappers and green paint were on offer for sensory exploration.

In Dragonflies, the children were also invited to make shamrock printed pictures and explored the discovery table with lots of pictures of Ireland.

Kindergarten had a fantastic gloopy time finding all the gold coins hidden in the gloop at the end of the rainbow. A very messy, fun sensory table that encouraed colour recognition, counting, turn taking and language development.

Our friend Kim from the Learning Journey popped by with a bag full of rainbows and treasure. The children had great fun making repeated patterns with coloured objects and colour mixing with food colouring and water. (See Seperate blog).

Meanwhile in Forest School, the children heard of the legend of the 'Pot of Gold' and watched the story telling unflod as the animals of the forest waited for a day of sun and rain to discover a rainbow. The children learnt the makaton signs for rainbow, sun, rain and gold.
