First Aid Training in the Forest

Katie 'Fox' has been away training in Exmouth completing her Paediatric Emergency Outdoor First Aid training for Forest School. We keep our skills and qualifications up to date and for Forest School, this means ensuring an specific outdoor qualification is gained.

Katie returned to her original Forest School training ground in Exmouth, run by the Outdoors Group.

Running for two days in the forest, surrounded by birdsong and keeping warm by the campfire, criteria covered included how to treat children and adults in an outdoor area, taking into account environment, exposure, weather, uneven ground, organising and running a campfire session and limiting the risk of infection when treating wounds outdoors.
