World Ocean Day 2019

World Oceans Day is held every year in June to raise awareness of the vital importance our oceans play in sustaining a healthy planet. We believe that starting conversations and an interest with the children here at St. Michael's is the start of securing a better understanding to the impact that we are having on our planet. The children have been looking at how pieces of plastic can be sadly mistaken for food and the effects this has on a healthy ecosystem.

We have read stories, poems, shared our beach experiences with one another and sang beach themed songs. The children at tennis even played games and activities all about the ocean!

We were delighted to see so many children arrive in nursery today dressed in a coastal theme.

We would welcome you to share photos of your time at the beach and in particular, any litter that you have collected.
