As part of Kindergarten's Life Skills programme, the children were visited by 'White Watch' Fire Fighters. We would like to thank the Fire Fighters for teaching us all about their job and the equipment that they use. We enjoyed sitting in the Fire Engine and some of us even sat in the driver's seat! The highlight was definitely having a go at the hose and aiming for the cones in the car park!
The children enjoyed a Role Play Area turned into and Opticians and they made some really fun glasses to take home. We discussed the design of the glasses and talked about how they help some people see clearer.
We would like to thank Devon & Cornwall Police for visiting us to talk to the children about the work they do and how they help us within the community. The whole Nursery were invited to watch a short performance about the role of a Police dog. Some of the children hid with Sarah in the garden and Bravo used his skill at tracking to find them! The children loved looking around the Police van too.
A big thank you to the South Western Ambulance Service NHS, for visiting Dragonflies and Kindergarten this morning. It was a fantastic morning to kick off our annual fortnight of 'Life Skills'. The children enjoyed wearing the helmets, listening to each other's heart beat, switching on the siren and flashing lights and learning about maps.
