Hot Dogs in the Woods

The children are all wrapped up warm ready to enjoy some muddy fun in Forest School today. We are even enjoying hot dogs cooked on the stove to warm our tummies up too! We believe there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing! Some of the children have been catching some hail stones in their hands. We've been talking about the seasons and how it is Winter now. inter.

Fun in the Baby Room

It may be cold outside but we've just enjoyed a rather delicious chicken and vegetable hotpot and crumble with custard for pudding. Ladybirds & Butterflies are looking at Shapes this week. We have been building towers and knocking them down and having lots of fun singing.

RSPB BIG Bird Watch

Forest School children have taken part in the RSPB big count in the garden today. We were even treated to the sighting of a little Robin in the garden. The children were excited to see lots of birds singing in our trees. We talked about how the trees don't have any leaves at the moment because it's winter. The children agreed that it would be a kind thing to put out food for the birds. We made bird feeders using cereal and pipe cleaners.

Busy Butterflies Upstairs

The children have been making lots of craft items for displays and to take home. There is the most fantastic fluffy Snowman display in the play room. Cinnamon scented play dough has also been very popular with the children exploring shapes, textures, smell and using different cutters.

Learning about Squirrels

The children attending Forest School sessions on a Wednesday and Wild Hygge on on Thursday, have been learning all about squirrels. The children have made some fantastic collages using different textures and natural resources. The children even made our soft toy squirrel his very own drey in the tree!

Stickman in the Snow

Dragonflies have really enjoyed the story of The Stickman and his adventures in the snow. The children have made a fantastic display in the classroom.

Winter Crafts

The nursery has seen a flurry of wonderful winter themed crafts. We have some fantastically freezing displays in the classrooms so please do take a moment to enjoy them. Our little Ladybirds and Butterflies upstairs have been making cotton wool snowmen. Dragonflies have been enjoying making snowmen using a potato masher in the white paint! Kindergarten have a beautiful display in the messy room full of icicles, snowmen and adorable little penguins.
